Halfway There!
Hi all,
I want to give a quick update that I'm almost 50% funded for my summer trip already! Praise God!!
I have been so blessed and humbled to see how God is providing through all of you - thank you. I love how this is not something God has called me to alone, but to partner with friends, family, and church family to together reach the Japanese people.
Encompass is planning to book my flight next week! As it gets closer it's getting more and more real, and I'm getting more excited!
A Story
Earlier this month over Easter weekend, I had the opportunity to visit a friend in Long Beach who works with Japanese international students. I spent the weekend with three Japanese girls, and it was so fun! I even got to interview them about Japanese culture for my upcoming senior project. And the best part is, all three of the girls are from Osaka or the surrounding area, and will be back home in Japan this summer! So I'll get to see them again while I'm there! It is so amazing to be part of this ministry before even going to Japan, and to be making friendships right now that have potential to last into the future.
Over the weekend we took a trip to Laguna Beach, celebrated Easter by dying eggs and having an egg hunt in the back yard, went to an Angels baseball game, and went to church on Easter morning. For the baseball game the girls made us all homemade bento boxes, and I ended up with a free bobble head of Shohei Ohtani, an apparently famous baseball player who I had never heard of haha! The baseball game was really a cultural experience because baseball is so popular in Japan. There were so many Japanese people there, and it was fun to learn more about something that is important to them! (Scroll through to see pictures)
Prayer Requests
I am sharing about my trip at church this Sunday, please pray that I could communicate clearly and that God would be glorified through my story!
Please pray that all the details will be worked out for booking my flights next week!
I am continuing to put together my senior research project on Japanese culture, and would love prayer as I work on it.
