Moving in Faith
It seems like Thanksgiving just happened... the beginning of December is flying by! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday celebrating with family and friends. My parents and I spent a few days down in Kentucky, exploring and hiking in National Parks and the Cumberland Gap. We all had a great time, ending the week with Thanksgiving downstate with aunts, uncles, and cousins. I'm so thankful for family!
Well, I have been accepted to Eternity Bible College!! I'm moving forward with plans to head out to Simi Valley, California for a year or two! The spring semester starts January 19th, so I'm planning to move in about a month. My goal is to finish the first year, then see where God leads me. The cool thing is that I can switch to online studies, so I don't necessarily have to finish my degree on campus. I am doing this all by faith... and still looking for a place to stay when I arrive there! Eternity is providing options of apartments/rooms to rent, so I'm not totally on my own - but it's still scary!
There were a few days last week when I was especially worried about finding an apartment to rent and moving to a new place where I have no friends (yet). I realized that I'm learning to trust God in new ways. In the past, I've had to trust God for financial provision through fundraising, but things like housing and community were readily provided through the World Race and other organizations I've been a part of. Now, the whole process of finding my own apartment and roommate seems overwhelming! But I know my God is faithful. He has never yet left me without a roof over my head, food on my plate, and a community of friends - so why should I doubt Him now?
All this being said, I would love prayer!! You can pray for:
-A place to rent that's in a nice community and in close proximity to Eternity's campus, as I will not have a car
-My future roommate(s)
-A smooth transition to a new location, friends, schedule, etc.
-A job to open up once I move and get settled in
-God's wisdom in all these decisions I'll be making!
Also I want to add this in - please pray for all the people in the LA area who are being affected by the wildfires. Thousands of people are being evacuated, and the fires are burning huge areas. If all goes as planned, I'll be living very close to this area, so it's really on my heart to pray that people will turn to God through this disaster. Simi Valley is currently not affected by the fires, but it's pretty close!
Even though I'm not fundraising for this venture, I would still very much love support through prayer and encouragement! I believe I'm going in the right direction and I'm excited about this transition, but it's not going to be easy. Your prayers mean a lot. I hope to continue posting updates every so often so we can stay in touch. Please feel free to comment or email me in response! I'm thankful for each one of you who are praying for me during this transition. Praying your Christmas season is blessed with the knowledge of Christ's love and joy in Him!
